- Stephen Corns, associate chair of graduate studies, is featured in an Engineering.com article about Missouri S&T’s master’s degree in engineering management. The article, “Take the Lead Where Engineering and Business Intersect,” was published June 23. Embedded with the story is a video produced by the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) about Missouri S&T’s engineering management and systems engineering department. The video features several faculty and a student, including Corns; Dr. Suzanna Long, department chair; Lizzette Perez-Lespier, a recent PhD graduate; Dr. Elizabeth Cudney, associate professor; Dr. Stephen Raper, associate professor; and Dr. Joan Schuman, assistant teaching professor.
New fiscal year brings organizational changes
With the new fiscal year that began on July 1, several organizational transitions are underway as part of Missouri S&T’s budget plan. These changes include a change in direct reports to the chancellor and a reduction in the number of direct reports to the provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs. Tap into a new audience as ‘Research on Tap’ speaker
The Graduate Student Leadership Council in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business is seeking speakers for its Research on Tap series next semester. Held at a local pub, the forum gives area residents and the campus community a chance to learn about research in a casual setting. Faculty participation is vital when welcoming new students to campus. More than 1,400 new students will be on campus in August for Opening Week orientation. This is your chance to give new students tips on how to be successful in the classroom. The faculty interaction portion of Opening Week is scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 15, Wednesday, Aug. 16, and Thursday, Aug. 17. Three time slots are available each day:
- 10:45-11:25 a.m.
- 11:40 a.m.-12:20 p.m.
- 12:35-1:15 p.m.
Running judges needed for Opening Week
Student success programs seeks running judges to assist Opening Week mentor teams during their track competition. Judging will be from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18. Volunteer judges may pick any timeframe or stay the day.
