New lab safety training available
New lab safety training modules are available online for students and faculty. This training replaces the previous General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST) courses and is mandatory for S&T graduate students who work in research labs and research faculty. To access the training, visit the Missouri S&T training website and log in using your university password.

Annual enrollment is your yearly opportunity to decide which insurance works best for you. Missouri S&T will hold informational meetings about annual enrollment for faculty and staff. The meetings will be:
- 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center
- 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center
Tomorrow is Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day
Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day will be observed Tuesday, Oct. 2. “Often behind the scenes, S&T’s custodial workers start each workday at 4 a.m. to keep our facilities clean and comfortable for all who live and work on campus,” says Dr. Chris Maples, interim chancellor. “Please join me in thanking our custodial services staff for their diligence.”

Maples to deliver State of the University address Oct. 3
Interim Chancellor Chris Maples will present S&T’s State of the University address 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Leach Theatre. Expect emergency alert test Oct. 3
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are pushing out a test of the nationwide Emergency Alert System at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Every cell phone will likely receive this alert. The alert message will be a presidential alert and the text will read “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

The forum is hosted by the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ) in partnership with the office of the vice chancellor for research.
