Expect emergency alert test Oct. 3

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are pushing out a test of the nationwide Emergency Alert System at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Every cell phone will likely receive this alert. The alert message will be a presidential alert and the text will read “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System.
