CEC to honor outstanding faculty, staff today

The College of Engineering and Computing invites all CEC faculty and staff to its college-wide meeting 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. The annual event will recognize this year’s CEC Dean’s Scholars and Dean’s Educators, reveal winners of staff achievement awards and welcome new faculty. A reception with snacks and beverages will follow.

Seminar planned on social implications of unmanned aircraft

Testing Center seeks volunteers to proctor exams

The Testing Center is seeking volunteers to help proctor exams 8 a.m.-noon or noon-6 p.m. in the Testing Center during S&T’s final exams week, Monday Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14. Volunteers will check student IDs or driver licenses, occasionally and quietly walk through the testing room and enforce the center’s policies. Bookstore to host Joe Friday sale, costume contest, Apple sale

The S&T Store will offer the following:

  • The S&T Store will host a “Joe Friday” sale Friday, Oct. 25. Save 25 percent on Miner clothing, gifts and gear from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the store and from midnight to midnight online.
  • Stop by the S&T Store 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Halloween (Wednesday, Oct. 31) to enter the store’s annual costume contest. Prizes will be awarded.
  • The S&T Store will hold a one-day sale on Apple products Wednesday, Nov. 14. Customers can pre-order at thesandtstore.com for an additional discount on the discounted education prices.

Bring your kids to chemistry celebration

The South Central Missouri local section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will host an event at S&T to celebrate National Chemistry Week. The public is invited to the event 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Schrenk Hall. Attendees can participate in hands-on experiments from 1 to 3 p.m., which are designed for students in grades 4-8.

Enter to win prizes at staff celebration, sign up for costume contest

Drop by the Fall Staff Appreciation Day 8:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Puck and enter to win a door prize. All attendees are eligible to enter the prize drawing and do not need to be present to win. To get an extra ticket for the prize drawing, bring an item to donate to the Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise (GRACE) or the Rolla Mission. Click here for a list of items. Annual enrollment underway

Annual enrollment is your yearly opportunity to decide which insurance works best for you. Annual enrollment opened Oct. 15 and will close Friday, Oct. 26. During this time, you can make changes to your insurance elections for the 2019 plan year.
