Biological sciences seminar today

NSF EPSCoR meetings

Missouri is eligible for the National Science Foundation’s experimental program to stimulate competitive research (EPSCoR) and will submit one proposal statewide. Sponsored programs will hold two information and idea-sharing meetings for faculty to organize a proposal. The first, titled “Understanding the Human Brain,” will be 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Room 140 Toomey Hall.

New roles for Ralph Flori

Dr. Ralph E. Flori Jr., chair and Gulf Oil Professor of geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering, will step down from that position effective Dec. 31 to coordinate strategic planning initiatives within the College of Engineering and Computing. He will also assume greater responsibility leading Missouri S&T’s Project Lead The Way (PLTW) efforts. He has served as affiliate director of Missouri’s PLTW since 2005.

Benefits enrollment computer lab

Benefit-eligible faculty and staff who do not have access to computers or who need a little extra help with enrolling for benefits can use a human resource services-staffed computer lab. It will be open 7 a.m.-noon Monday, Oct. 20, and Monday, Oct. 27, in Room 105 Centennial Hall. No appointment is necessary and staff will be on site to help with any questions you may have or to walk you through the steps.
