The office of undergraduate studies is seeking faculty judges for the Missouri S&T Undergraduate Research Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, in the Havener Center. If interested, please contact Melissa Hutton at mhutton@mst.edu.

This is the sixth year for the conference, which provides opportunities for students to showcase their research efforts to the campus and the public. The conference will include oral and poster sessions. The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 16. Registration materials are available online at ugs.mst.edu/ugrc.html. Guides needed for girls' conference

Volunteer group guides are needed for Expanding Your Horizons (EYH), a conference where 7th and 8th grade girls learn about careers in science, math, engineering and technology. EYH, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, attracts more than 600 prospective students to campus.

Healthy for Life: T.E. Atkins University of Missouri Wellness Program needs your help to make the 2009 Missouri S&T Employee Wellness Fair a success. Volunteers for both clinical and non-clinical jobs are needed. If you are interested in helping Healthy for Life in any capacity for any amount of time, please contact Jerry Parmeley at parmeleyj@umsystem.edu.

A training session for volunteers will be held from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Employee Wellness Fair will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the St. Pat's Ballroom of the Havener Center.

Help Healthy for Life make the 2009 Missouri S&T Employee Wellness Fair a successful event by volunteering your time. The wellness fair is scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Havener Center. Volunteers for clinical and non-clinical positions are needed. Engineers Without Borders-S&T is seeking a faculty or staff member with accounting or bookkeeping experience to mentor the group's student treasurer. EWB-S&T's treasurer oversees a budget of more than $140,000 every year and must properly handle income, expenses and budgeting. Career Fair needs volunteers

The Fall Career Fair is fast approaching and volunteers are needed to assist with this event. The fair is scheduled from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. If you can help, complete the online form at career.mst.edu, or contact Nancy Zamazanuk at 341-4229 or nancyz@mst.edu.

Faculty participation is vital when welcoming the more than 1,000 new students during the 2009 Opening Week Orientation in August. Interested faculty will eat lunch and meet with the student mentor groups to discuss faculty expectations and classroom respect. The goal is to facilitate a positive interaction between new students and faculty.

This is your chance to give students classroom success tips. The faculty and student interactions are scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 20, for the following time slots: 10:45-11:25 a.m.; 11:40 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; and 12:35-1:15 p.m. Faculty may participate one day or all three days, in one or all time slots.

Your support is needed and appreciated. Those who participate will be asked to attend the faculty discussion and planning session scheduled from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. Dr. Ghulam Bham, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, is looking for volunteers to drive a simulator as part of a research project investigating traffic systems. Younger drivers have already helped with the project, now Bham needs drivers age 35 and older. More information about the project is available online at web.mst.edu/~dm2nf/.
