Student well-being staff recognized for prevention, outreach and engagement initiatives

Amber Johnston, Stephanie Murray-Miller and Derek Zboran of student well-being were recognized as nominees for the Outstanding Professional Award through Partners in Prevention.

Johnston, senior counselor, leads and produces the “Morning Cup of Joe” podcast, which has received multiple distinctions, including the Rising Star Award, Marathon Show Award and Most Shared Show Award, and has been streamed in 18 countries.

Murray-Miller, student support services manager, manages health promotion and prevention and leads the Missouri S&T Prevention Coalition.

Zboran, training and outreach coordinator, leads Mental Well-Being Awareness Week and peer education initiatives, expanding outreach, reducing stigma and connecting students to resources.
