The Missouri S&T Semper Fidelis Society would like to thank all those who donated to the St. James Veterans Home this semester. With your help, they were able to donate more than $1,000 to the veterans home this last Veteran's Day, on Nov. 11. Special thanks to the Missouri S&T Army and Air Force ROTC cadets as well as the Marine Corps officer candidates from both the University of Missouri-Columbia and Missouri State University for their donations.

Jackie Duncan is home from the hospital. Her family would like to thank the Missouri S&T community for all of their support.

Chartwells would like to thank everyone for their support of Jackie Duncan and her family during this difficult time. She is doing well and out of the ICU and will return to Rolla in approximately two weeks.

New student programs would like to thank everyone for their involvement and dedication to S&T's freshmen during Opening Week last week. It was a positive learning experience for the new students, thanks to the cooperative efforts of many faculty, staff and students who participated. These early relationships freshmen develop with other students, staff and faculty are instrumental in helping them make a successful transition to college life. Opening Week also establishes realistic academic expectations for new students and provides programs that promote academic success. The department looks forward to working with everyone again in 2010.
