Dr. Xiaodong Yang, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was named an Outstanding Referee by the American Physical Society (APS). The lifetime award recognizes scientists who are exceptionally helpful in assessing manuscripts for publication in APS journals.

Dr. Jie Gao and Dr. Xiaodong Yang, both assistant professors of mechanical and aerospace engineering, had research featured in Nature: Scientific Reports this past September. The article is titled “Ultrasensitive detection and characterization of molecules with infrared plasmonic metamaterials.” Fei Cheng, a visiting scholar, also co-authored the article.
