- Dr. Phil Whitefield’s research on emissions of conventional and alternative jet fuels was cited in an article published in Aviation Week on Aug. 12. The article by reporter Graham Warwick is titled “Focus on Black Carbon Standards Shifts to Cruise Phase.” Whitefield is a professor of chemistry and leads the Center for Research in Energy and Environment.
- Jonathan Ahl of St. Louis Public Radio interviewed Dr. Kyle Perry for the story “Missouri S&T Researches Mine Safety with A Homemade Cannon” that aired on Aug. 28. Perry is an associate professor of mining and nuclear engineering.
- Research conducted by Dr. Jie Gao and Dr. Xiaodong Yang is mentioned in the article “Want to ride a holographic elephant?” published Aug. 30 on www.livemint.com. Live Mint is the website for Mint, a business news publication in India. Gao and Yang are both associate professors of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
