Be prepared for winter weather

The National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri, has issued a winter weather advisory through midnight tonight. The advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving. Missouri S&T is currently open. If a decision is made to close campus or cancel classes, students, faculty and staff will be notified via email and text. Rolla is under a winter storm watch from tomorrow night (Friday, Jan. 11) to Saturday night (Jan. 12) with precipitation expected through Sunday, Jan. 13. Please exercise caution and look to the university website, alert.mst.edu, for information on cancellations and winter weather safety tips.

Follow these winter weather tips

All students, faculty and staff should take every precaution when traveling or going out in the cold. The S&T grounds crew began treating stairs and ramps at 4 a.m. and will treat walks as needed.
