Volunteers needed to visit with families

Missouri S&T’s new student programs staff will host a new event for the parents and guests of incoming freshmen during upcoming Preview, Registration and Orientation (PRO) Days. While students are meeting with advisors and registering for courses, parents and guests will visit with volunteer students, faculty and staff during a parent social program in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. All S&T faculty and staff are welcome to attend and talk with incoming Miner families. Refreshments will be served. The social program will start at 3 p.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom on the following dates:

Volunteers needed for FIRST robotics competition

Volunteers are needed to help staff the FIRST Robotics State Championship, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Gale Bullman Building. The event will bring hundreds of high school students and requires over 100 volunteers. To volunteer, please register online at firstinspires.org.

Volunteers needed for Missouri S&T’s largest hackathon

Hundreds of college students will come together for 36 hours of coding, problem solving and team building during Missouri S&T’s hackathon, ShamHacks, from Friday, Feb. 9, through Sunday, Feb. 11, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. Volunteers are sought to help staff the event, which will begin with an opening ceremony at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, and conclude with a closing ceremony and hacker showcase at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. Volunteer for robotics competitions

Volunteers are needed to help staff two regional robotics championships for middle and high school students that will be held on Missouri S&T’s campus in February. VEX Robotics will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, and the FIRST Robotics State Championship will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, both in the Gale Bullman Building. The events are expected to bring hundreds of visitors to our campus.
