Power outage planned May 30
A daylong power outage is planned Thursday, May 30, to allow for replacement of one of S&T’s substation transformers. Several campus buildings will be affected by the power outage, which will begin at approximately 6 a.m. and last throughout the day. Staff enrichment workshops will be available 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on May 30 in Hasselmann Alumni House, which will not be affected by the power outage.

New lab safety training available
New lab safety training modules are available online for students and faculty. This training replaces the previous General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST) courses and is mandatory for S&T graduate students who work in research labs and research faculty. To access the training, visit the Missouri S&T training website and log in using your university password.
Read More »Building coordinator training planned next week
University Police will provide training for Missouri S&T’s campus building coordinators. Coordinators will learn about the responsibilities of campus building coordinators and available resources. The training sessions will be held:
- 1-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center
- 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center

To meet University of Missouri System’s annual training requirement, faculty and staff are required to pass mastery tests for two courses by midnight Tuesday, Oct. 31:
- “Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX” will take approximately one hour to complete. Visit umsystem.edu/ums/hr/ec_training to access the training in myLearn.
- “MakeITSafe Information Security Awareness,” will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To access the training, log in to myHR at myhr.umsystem.edu, click on the “Training and Performance” box, and then click “MakeITSafe Training.” You will be directed to a Skillsoft course titled, “Security Awareness for End Users.”
Physical defense for women classes start Oct. 21
University Police is offering rape, aggression, defense (R.A.D.) training for women. The classes are free for Missouri S&T students, employees and dependents of employees. Classes will be held 8-11 a.m. Sundays, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, in the Student Recreation Center in the Gale Bullman Building. Participants must attend each of the four sessions in the 12-hour course. Class size is limited to 15.
