University Police is offering rape, aggression, defense (R.A.D.) training for women. The classes are free for Missouri S&T students, employees and dependents of employees. Classes will be held 8-11 a.m. Sundays, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, in the Student Recreation Center in the Gale Bullman Building. Participants must attend each of the four sessions in the 12-hour course. Class size is limited to 15.
Lt. Letha Young with University Police will lead the comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
