Can I call you native? Join Wednesday’s discussion

Join student diversity initiatives for a discussion led by Dr. Justin Pope, assistant professor of history and political science, 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Diversity House, located at 605 W. 11th St. Pope’s presentation, titled “Can I Call You Native? An Exploration of the Terms ‘Native American’ and ‘American Indian,’ ”will explore the words “Native American” and “American Indian,” both racial terms contested by indigenous people in the United States. Release the lanterns

Release a floating lantern into Ber Juan Park Lake to celebrate the International Day of Peace at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The lantern release will be followed by student speakers and presentations. Lanterns will be available for decoration until 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 20) in the Havener Center Atrium.

Learn about Latinx experience Sept. 12
