Student diversity initiatives (SDI) is excited to announce that the clothing closet and the student food and supply pantry are now open at the Diversity House, located at 605 W. 11th Street.

“Commuter’s Commodities” is a food and supply pantry to help alleviate the financial burden of obtaining good quality food, small household goods, cleaning supplies and hygiene products. The SDI staff is committed to assuring that students have everything they need to succeed in their studies. The pantry is available to all S&T students in need. To use the pantry, students will need complete a first-time user questionnaire online and schedule an appointment with a specialist.

The “Closets are for Clothes” closet provides free clothing for trans and gender-transitioning students, allowing them access to gently used or new gender-affirming clothing, shoes and accessories. The purpose of this service is to alleviate the often heavy financial burden of transitioning or coming out. While members of the LGBTQIA+ community are given priority access to this resource, all S&T students who have a need for this service may use it accordingly. Students who are interested in using the closet can schedule a private appointment or stop by and take a look.
