S&T group organizes conference on self-consolidating concrete

Missouri S&T representatives organized the eighth International RILEM Symposium on Self-Compacting Concrete and the sixth North American Conference on the Design and Use of Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC), which was held May 15-18 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kamal Khayat, the Vernon and Maralee Jones Professor of Civil Engineering at S&T, was chair of the event, and Abbie Sherman of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies (CIES) was the conference secretariat.

The Research on Concrete Applications for Sustainable Transportation (RE-CAST) university transportation center will host a seminar at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. Research on Concrete Applications for Sustainable Transportation (RE-CAST) will host a research seminar from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, in Room 317 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The seminar will feature Dr. Kenneth Hover, former American Concrete Institute president and currently a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Cornell University. His presentation is titled “There is more to Concrete than Meets the Eye.” Later that day, Hover will present the Stueck Lecture.
