Physical defense for women classes start Oct. 21

University Police is offering rape, aggression, defense (R.A.D.) training for women. The classes are free for Missouri S&T students, employees and dependents of employees. Classes will be held 8-11 a.m. Sundays, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, in the Student Recreation Center in the Gale Bullman Building. Participants must attend each of the four sessions in the 12-hour course. Class size is limited to 15.

R.A.D. training for women

The Centre, located at 1200 Holloway St. in Rolla, is offering rape, aggression, defense (R.A.D.) training for women ages 12 and older. Classes will be 3-5 p.m. Saturdays from April 12 to May 17 in Meeting Room B. The course is $25 and is taught by Lt. Letha Young of the Missouri S&T police department. Classes will teach empowerment, confidence and the power of voice. A heavy emphasis on physical defense is incorporated into the classes.
