Myers’ expertise sought following bridge collapse

Dr. John Myers was one of the nation’s first infrastructure experts called upon by news media professionals to help explain the issues related to a tragic bridge collapse in Miami on March 15. Myers is a professor of civil engineering and associate dean of the College of Engineering and Computing. Myers was quoted in more than 70 news articles, plus interviewed on CNN Headline News on March 16. He also was featured in a Popular Science article published March 20, titled “The Failed Florida Overpass was Supposed to be a Shining Example of Accelerated Bridge Construction.
