S&T named NCAA Award of Excellence finalist for tornado recovery efforts
Missouri S&T is a finalist for the NCAA Division II Award of Excellence for community engagement efforts.
S&T was recognized for its disaster recovery efforts following the EF2 tornado that hit Rolla in March 2025.

The No. 1 seeded Miner men’s basketball team heads out to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional tournament at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 14, outside the Gale Bullman Building. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to show up early and send off the basketball team with Miner spirit.

S&T to add men’s volleyball
Missouri S&T will add men’s volleyball among its NCAA championship sports. The new program will officially begin in the fall of 2022 with current women’s head coach Andy Halaz serving as the head coach for the men’s team as well.

Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader has been selected to serve a four-year term on the NCAA Division II Presidents Council, the organization’s highest governance office. The council sets the strategic direction for the division. Schrader’s term began Saturday, Jan. 21, at the conclusion of the Division II business session at the NCAA Convention in Nashville.
