Commencement speakers announced

More than 1,100 Missouri S&T graduates will be awarded degrees during three upcoming ceremonies. Dr. Kim Colter, a community hospitalist for Mercy, will speak at the May 10 ceremony for Ph.D. graduates. Robert “Bob” Clark, founder of Clayco, will speak at both May 11 ceremonies.

Retirement reception planned for Patti Fleck

Counseling services will host a retirement reception for Dr. Patti Fleck 1-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, outdoors on the north side of Norwood Hall, near the picnic area. Please complete a form to RSVP for a specific time frame by 5 p.m. Monday, May 10. Each 30-minute time frame will be limited to 14 guests.

Electrical power outage planned in Emerson Hall

The east wing of Emerson Hall will not have electricity beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. The outage will last until midnight. Power will be restored on Wednesday, May 12. The outage will not affect the west side of the building.

COVID-19: S&T prepared for Rolla’s stay-at-home ordinance

Chancellor Mo Dehghani sent the following message to students, faculty and staff on March 31:
The Rolla City Council passed a stay-at-home ordinance Monday night to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. This ordinance goes into effect at 8 a.m. Monday, April 6, and will remain in effect through Monday, May 11. Because of our own measures already in place at Missouri S&T to slow the spread of COVID-19, this ordinance will not have a substantial impact on our current operations.
