Read More »The Center for Sustainability hosted the semi-annual meeting of the Missouri S&T Microgrid Industrial Consortium Jan. 12. The 29 attendees included consortium members, faculty researchers, students and guests. Dr. Pourya Shamsi, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, Dr. Fatih Dogan, professor of materials science and engineering, and students presented about research progress. Shamsi identified the opportunity to use consortium-member data in his model for selecting the optimum battery location and size within a microgrid. George Mues, manager of technology transfer at Ameren, agreed to host a meeting at Ameren on Jan. 19 to facilitate the gathering of the data for the model.
