Dr. Xiaoming He, associate professor of mathematics and statistics, has received a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany. As part of the fellowship, He will visit the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany from February to August 2018 and work with the research group of Dr. Ulrich Rude for coupling porous media flow with free flow by using two modeling ideas.
Read More »The American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation selected Dr. David Westenberg, associate professor and interim chair of biological sciences, to serve as a “Humboldtian on Campus.” Westenberg was one of approximately 200 U.S. Alexander von Humboldt alumni invited to participate in the U.S. Humboldt Colloquium, held March 2-4 in Washington, D.C. The topic of the colloquium was “Global Research in the 21st Century: Perspectives of the U.S. Humboldt Network.”
