Student survey to focus on sexual misconduct
The 2019 Student Survey on Sexual Misconduct allows the university to better understand student experiences and opinions concerning sexual violence and harassment so we can work to foster safer and more supportive campus communities. The survey will open on Thursday, April 4; you will get an email with a survey link from Neil Outar, Title IX coordinator, on April 4. The survey is voluntary and all responses are anonymous.

Peru trip open to graduate students
Graduate students can earn three credit hours in Peru during spring break. Dr. Neil Anderson will lead the course, “GEO ENG 6407: Inca Civilization Geotechnical Engineering Practices,” March 22-April 1, 2019. Students must register for GE 6407 by Friday, Dec. 7, to allow for travel arrangements.

New lab safety training available
New lab safety training modules are available online for students and faculty. This training replaces the previous General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST) courses and is mandatory for S&T graduate students who work in research labs and research faculty. To access the training, visit the Missouri S&T training website and log in using your university password.

Missouri S&T’s student commencement speaker program has been expanded so that all graduating students can apply for the opportunity to speak at their commencement ceremony on May 12. Students who will be receiving their Ph.D., master’s degree or bachelor’s degree at the May ceremony may apply. The application deadline for all students is 4 p.m. today (Monday, March 5).
