Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe, professor of geology and geophysics, has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She receives the recognition for her contributions to the advancement of palynology — the study of organic-walled microfossils such as pollen and spores — and her outstanding efforts in educating the next generation of Earth scientists.
Read More »With a grant from NASA, Dr. Marek Locmelis, assistant professor of geology and geophysics, will develop research infrastructure for advanced geochemical studies of meteorites by laser ablation inductively coupled mass spectrometry at Missouri S&T. The grant will also help support the research of Austin Siedleck, a graduate student investigating the sulfur cycles of Mars and Vesta.
