Jackling award goes to Frimpong

Dr. Samuel Frimpong will receive the 2017 Daniel C. Jackling Award from the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) at a ceremony. Frimpong is the Robert H. Quenon Missouri Endowed Chair in Mining Engineering at Missouri S&T.
The Daniel C. Jackling Award, established in 1953, is presented for significant contributions to technical progress in mining, geology and geophysics. Frimpong was cited for his “long-term contributions to mining engineering education, research and professional development and for his international recognition as an outstanding scholar in mining engineering.”
The award will be presented in February at the SME 2018 Annual Conference and Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
