The campus community is invited to celebrate Black History Month at the following events:

  • Weekly Black History Month celebrations hosted by the National Society of Black Engineers, noon-1:30 p.m. in the Havener Center Atrium, on Thursday, Feb. 13, Friday, Feb. 21, and Friday, Feb. 28
  • Black Man’s Think Tank discussion, “For the Culture” 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Turner Room of the Havener Center
  • Black History Comedy Show and Casino Night, 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center

Researcher to speak about medical cannabis today

Last November, Missouri passed Amendment 2, legalizing medical marijuana. Dr. Marcel O. Bonn-Miller will present a seminar, titled “Medical Cannabis in Missouri: Therapeutic Potential and Risks” at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.

How do students learn?

The next early career faculty forum, open to all pre-tenure and pre-promotion faculty, will be a discussion on the topic, “How Do Students Learn?” 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in Room 203 of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Dr. Merilee Krueger, associate teaching professor of psychological science, will lead the forum.
