Ten doctoral students in the College of Engineering and Computing have been named Dean’s Ph.D. Scholars in recognition of their scholarly excellence and research productivity. The award winners were nominated by professors in their home departments and honored at an end-of-semester campus reception in May. The recognition follows the launch of similar CEC awards in the 2016-17 academic year for top faculty researchers and those who excel in the classroom. Read More »Dr. David Enke, professor of engineering management and systems engineering, and Dr. Youngmin Kim, visiting post-doctoral fellow in engineering management and systems engineering, received the Best Paper Award in the application category at the 2016 Complex Adaptive System Conference, held Nov. 2-4 in Los Angeles. Their paper is titled “Using Neural Networks to Forecast Volatility for an Asset Allocation Strategy Based on the Target Volatility.”
