Missouri S&T is joining the Buckle Up, Phone Down Challenge, MODOT’s effort to encourage Missourians to drive safer. New signs have been installed in parking lots across campus to remind drivers of the two most important things they can do to prevent (or survive) a crash: buckle their seatbelts and put their phones down.

Buckle Up Phone Down: A safety challenge that can make a difference

Missouri S&T is challenging students and employees to buckle up and put their phones down when they drive. The Missouri Department of Transportation’s Buckle Up Phone Down campaign is tackling the two most impactful actions a driver can take to prevent or survive crashes and S&T is joining them in the fight.

University Police, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), reminds individuals to wear seatbelts and refrain from using mobile devices while driving. Sign up for the “Buckle up, phone down” challenge to wear your seatbelt and put your phone down every time you drive. To accept the pledge, visit modot.org/BuckleUpPhoneDown.
