Careaga recounts branding journey from UMR to S&T

“The Elements of Brand-building in Higher Education: The Role of Strategy, Research and Internal Engagement,” by Andrew Careaga, executive director of marketing and communications, was published in the winter 2017-18 edition of the Journal of Education Advancement & Marketing. The invited paper describes Missouri S&T’s branding initiatives during the 2007-08 name change from UMR and more recent branding efforts associated with S&T’s strategic plan. Brand identity site scheduled to launch Feb. 1

As part of the Miners Dig Deeper brand identity refresh, a new website with additional information about the brand identity and tools for implementing the brand is scheduled to launch on Monday, Feb. 1. The site will provide guidelines for using the brand voice in written, print and online materials, access to templates and design elements, an online builder to help the campus community create flyers, posters and other materials quickly and easily, and more.

A refreshed university website to launch soon

The marketing and communications department will soon launch a new website as part of the university’s brand evolution. Updates to all websites will take place throughout the month, beginning with the gateway page, the main page of the university found at www.mst.edu. The gateway will transition to a new layout, including updated navigation in early January. New and existing supporting pages to the gateway will then be updated, followed by departmental websites and other content.
