‘From muscles to plants’ lecture planned today
The MAE Graduate Seminar Series will feature Dr. Kon-Well Wang, the Stephen P. Timoshenko Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. University of Missouri System President Mun Choi and search committee co-chairs Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe and Tom Voss led an open forum Sept. 17 in Leach Theatre for the campus community to discuss desired characteristics in S&T’s next chancellor. Release a floating lantern into Ber Juan Park Lake to celebrate the International Day of Peace at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The lantern release will be followed by student speakers and presentations. Lanterns will be available for decoration until 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 20) in the Havener Center Atrium.

Carry a flag in Parade of Nations
Missouri S&T’s Celebration of Nations will kick off with the Parade of Nations at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in downtown Rolla. Organizers would like over 80 countries represented in the parade. UM System accelerator program to foster, fund student business ideas
Student entrepreneurs in the University of Missouri System could earn up to $30,000 in prize money thanks to a new initiative known as the Entrepreneur Quest Student Accelerator. S&T students can learn more during a general information session 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in Room G-2 of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (IDE), next to Makerspace. Applications for the first program are open through Friday, Oct. 19.
