Passing of Harry W. Weart

Dr. Harry W. Weart, former chair of metallurgical engineering, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, in Vero Beach, Florida. Weart served as chair of the department from 1964 to 1992. Hackathon for Humanity kickoff

To celebrate computer science’s Golden Jubilee, the department will hold a Hackathon for Humanity (H4H) event. The campus community is invited to the hackathon kickoff, which will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. The H4H is a competition that challenges participants to create a mobile app (iOS or Android) or a web app that is beneficial to society. There is $2,000 in prize money available to participants.
