Read More »Dr. Richard Brow, Curators’ Professor of ceramic engineering, earned the N.F. Mott Award from the Glass and Optical Materials Division of the American Ceramics Society (ACS). The award is presented every two years by the “Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids” to a senior scientist for outstanding contributions to the science of non-crystalline solids. Brow received the award at the ACS annual meeting.
Read More »Dr. Joe Stanley, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recently presented with IEEE-USA’s Professional Achievement Award for Individuals. An IEEE senior member, Stanley was honored for his contributions to Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a nationwide K-12 STEM program that provides educators with intensive summer training at leading universities. Together with three “master teachers,” Stanley has co-trained about 150 teachers in a digital electronics course over the last decade and has helped develop new resources for PLTW to enhance teachers’ effectiveness in presenting the curriculum to students.

The group is comprised of Dr. Susan Murray, interim chair of psychological science and professor of engineering management and systems engineering at S&T; Julie Phelps, instructional designer in educational technology at S&T; and Kelly Jones, an adjunct instructor at Webster University and training manager at Nestle Purina in St. Louis.
