The south entrance of Norwood Hall will be closed this afternoon (Wednesday, July 13). The entrance will reopen Thursday morning and close again at noon Thursday, July 14. The entrance will reopen again the morning of Friday, July 15. Weather permitting, contractors will place new storm sewer lines and concrete during these closures. There is a water outage in McNutt Hall and Engineering Management Building today (Tuesday, July 5) due to a city water line main break. Plumbers repaired damage yesterday and are currently flushing the lines. Water will be restored as soon as possible to those buildings. For more information, call Jerry Planitz at 578-0399.

Beginning Monday, May 16, air conditioning in Norwood Hall will not be in service until May 30. Systems have to be moved due to the exterior restoration project. For more information, contact Ron Boggs at 308-7066.

There will be a power outage 7-8 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, in Toomey Hall. Power will be shut down for emergency power air handler testing. For more information, contact Ron Boggs at 308-7066.

The facilities operations work order system – Maximo — will be temporarily down from 3 to 4 p.m. today while Windows updates are installed and the server is restarted. During that time users will not be able to log into the system to create work orders.

Maintenance personnel and contractors will change out defective compressors on the first floor of Norwood Hall tomorrow (Thursday, March 3). This may result in a reduction of temperature for a short period of time during repairs. Facilities operations will try to keep the outage as short as possible. In preparation for the start of the Norwood Hall exterior restoration project, contractors will begin installing fencing around Norwood Hall on Monday, March 7. The recent increase in power outages has caused major problems with both campus operations and research. Facilities operations knows how disruptive to both operations and research this has been and are working diligently to resolve the issue. Most, if not all, of these outages have been caused by squirrels shorting circuits in the campus substation. Efforts to trap and relocate the squirrels have not resulted in a reduction of incidents.
