Annual recycled fashion show
Do you like fashion and recycling? Then put the two together at the annual Recycled Fashion Show. The show will start at noon Thursday, April 17, on the Havener Center lawn. Contestants will create fashionable pieces made of recycled materials and will be judged by a panel of five faculty and staff members for prizes and bragging rights. If you are interested in competing or serving as a judge, email Natalie Holste or Aaron Enz.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill will host a public town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 18, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. The meeting will be held from 11 a.m.-noon. The event is open to the campus community and the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP.

After reviewing numerous Learning Management System (LMS) providers, the faculty and student committee responsible for reviewing the current LMS have decided to recommend a change to Canvas by Instructure. EdTech will work closely with Canvas representatives to make the transition as smooth as possible. Current content in Blackboard will be moved into Canvas over the next few months. There will be a chilled water outage in Toomey Hall starting Wednesday, March 12, and lasting until Wednesday, March 26. The outage is due to geothermal construction. For more information, contact Ron Boggs at 341-6412.

Information technology is excited to announce that Missouri S&T will soon move its student email and calendar platform from Microsoft Office 365 to Gmail in Google Apps. With Google Apps, S&T will gain the benefits of a single student email system by reducing confusion, ensuring consistency, streamlining student activation processes and improving technical support. Faculty and staff email accounts are Microsoft Exchange and will not be affected. The change is scheduled to take place during spring break. More information will be sent to students via email and posted on it.mst.edu as it is released.
