Register for the Women in Leadership Conference
Registration is now open for the Women in Leadership Conference June 22-23 in Columbia, Missouri. The conference, sponsored by the University of Missouri System Leadership Development Team, highlights topics important to women and leadership in academia. The event provides opportunities for faculty, staff and graduate students across all university units and departments to share ideas, discuss issues relevant to gender in the workplace and sharpen leadership skills relevant to professional success.

Fireworks displays will be visible at the Experimental Mine, located on Bridge School Road in southeast Rolla, on two Fridays in June for the conclusion of each Explosives Camp session. The fireworks will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, and Friday, June 26. Parking is limited at the mine. For more information about the fireworks or Explosives Camp, email Dr. Gillian Worsey, assistant adjunct professor of mining and nuclear engineering.

Physical facilities will perform maintenance on the MAXIMO work order system between 1 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. During that time, the campus community will not be able to submit or view service requests for physical facilities or design and construction. For more information, call 341-4252.

University Police would like to clear all campus bike racks before the start of the summer session of classes. Please remove all bikes from campus racks by 6 a.m. Sunday, June 7. University Police will remove any remaining bikes later that day.

Information technology will perform Blackboard maintenance starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 2. This will be performed during normal university business hours, unlike most Blackboard maintenance. Blackboard will be unavailable for approximately six hours, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Dan Uetrecht, director of networks and computing in Missouri S&T’s information technology division, has been named interim chief information officer for the university effective June 1. He will succeed current CIO Greg Smith, who announced earlier this year that he will be leaving Missouri S&T at the end of May.

Open forums for two counseling, disability support and student wellness positions will be held May 27-June 3. The forums for a case manager and a counselor will all be held at 1 p.m. in Room 305 Norwood Hall. After a brief presentation, each forum will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
