Faculty First Friday set for Dec. 2
The next Faculty First Friday lunch will be held noon-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Hasselmann Alumni House. It will be the final Faculty First Friday of the semester. The informal event provides faculty an opportunity to network and share ideas with colleagues and university leaders. Participants should bring their lunch, and the chancellor’s office will provide drinks and desserts.

The Missouri S&T Observatory will open its doors at 10 p.m. tonight, Monday, Nov. 28, for viewing the Great Orion Nebula. The viewing is free and no reservations are required. The sky must be clear for observing. The observatory is located at 1550 N. Bishop Ave., next to S&T’s Stonehenge replica, north of McNutt Hall and west of St. Patrick’s Lane.

Join the Missouri S&T Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Asexual and Ally Advisory Board on Friday, Dec. 2, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. The ceremony will honor leaders and graduating seniors who have demonstrated dedicated service to creating a more inclusive campus community for LGBTQIA community members. The event will begin with a reception at 4:30 p.m. and conclude with a brief ceremony at 5 p.m.

The S&T Student Emergency Fund has been created by counseling, disability, support and student wellness (CDSW). This fund assists S&T students by providing financial support with unexpected emergency expenses that greatly affect their lives, including their ability to be successful academically. The financial support from this fund allows students to have their needs met and continue their education. Funds may be used for situations including medical care or prescriptions, groceries or essential academic expenses.
