Students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and neurodevelopmental disorders add to our campus in countless ways. To guide our faculty and staff toward a better understanding and appreciation for the fascinating and wonderful aspects of students with ASD, disability support services will offer two training sessions Friday, Feb. 10:

  • Session for staff at 9-10:30 a.m. in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center
  • Session for faculty at 11:30-1 p.m., with lunch provided, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center

Registration is free but required. Please register by Monday, Jan. 30.

Dr. Karen O’Connor, assistant professor of special education at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Dr. Lea Ann Lowery, associate professor of occupational therapy at the University of Missouri-Columbia, will lead the training. O’Connor and Lowery both serve patients and their families at the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Columbia.

For questions, please contact the disability support services staff at 341-6655.
