In November, approximately 200 individuals interested in the future of Missouri S&T — faculty, staff, students and alumni — gathered to review the university’s strategic plan. They made several recommendations on the plan’s levers, themes and actions. Now is your chance to review their recommendations and provide feedback. Do you want to learn how career opportunities and employer relations (COER) can help you and your students? Faculty and staff are invited to an open house 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the COER office on the third floor of Norwood Hall. Meet the staff, tour the facilities and learn about the resources and services, and discuss possible collaborations and needs. Refreshments will be provided.

Mathematical Logic I, credited as either Math 5154, Computer Engineering 5803, Computer Science 5203, or Philosophy 4354, will be offered starting Wednesday, Feb. 1, and ending Wednesday, March 1. Read More »Traveling trophy goes to Butler-Carlton Hall
Employees at Butler-Carlton Hall donated 271 items for food and toy drives in November, giving the highest number at an S&T building and garnering a traveling trophy. Staff Council members collected the donations throughout campus and delivered them to Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise (GRACE) for those in need. Beth Abner, human resources representative and chair of Staff Council, presented Darlene Turner, administrative associate, with the traveling trophy for Butler-Carlton Hall.

Nearly 800 degrees were conferred to Missouri S&T undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students at two ceremonies Dec. 17. “Thank you to Krista Chambers and the Commencement Committee for all their hard work to make the events run smoothly,” says Dr. Robert Marley, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.

The employee eConnection for faculty and staff will move to its winter break schedule starting Wednesday, Dec. 28. During this period, eConnection will be sent weekly on Wednesdays. The eConnection will return to its regular schedule of Mondays and Thursdays on Monday, Jan. 23. Please continue to submit entries to eConnection and remember to add your event notices to the campus calendar.

Volunteer during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Monday, Jan. 16, and earn 10 points for the University of Missouri System’s 2017 Wellness Incentive. Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in service projects throughout the local community 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and attend a celebration lunch 1-2 p.m. on campus. Register to participate by Monday, Jan. 2.
