Play trivia, help Miner Challenge students make a difference

Support the Miner Challenge Alternative Break Program by playing trivia with a team of up to eight people 6-9 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Hasselmann Alumni House. Mini games and a silent auction will be held throughout the evening. Food and drinks will be sold; it is not a bring-your-own event. All proceeds go toward supporting Miner Challenge, which sends teams of students on immersive volunteer trips during university breaks. Pre-register online at mst.orgsync.com/org/minerchallenge for $100 per team or register at the door for $120 per team. Dine, donate at Buffalo Wild Wings April 12

Support philanthropy on the Missouri S&T campus at Buffalo Wild Wings 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 12. A portion of food and beverage sales during this time will support Spirit of Change — Random Acts of Kindness. The student-run fund by Blue Key Honor Society that goes back to current students.

Tier 1 of the wellness incentive ends April 30

If you’re an active, benefit-eligible faculty or staff member who is the primary subscriber on a University of Missouri-sponsored medical plan, complete Tier 1 of the 2017 Wellness Incentive by Sunday, April 30, to earn $50 in your final May paycheck. There are only two steps for you to complete in Tier 1:

  1. Complete your personal health assessment in the Wellness Portal. This online questionnaire is designed to help you identify potential health risks.
  1. Watch the Healthy for Life video in myLearn. You’ll learn about wellness offerings so you can find an approach to wellness that’s meaningful to you.

Faculty workshop planned on promotion, tenure

Faculty who are going up for promotion and tenure in Fall 2017 are invited to a hands-on workshop 3-5 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Room 204 of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Dr. Melanie Mormile, professor of biological sciences and associate provost for faculty affairs, and Dr. Daniel Forciniti, professor of chemical and biochemical engineering and faculty fellow in the provost’s office, will share information.
