Students, faculty and clinicians are invited to submit an abstract for the Ozark Biomedical Initiative Research Symposium, which will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Abstracts are due online at obi.mst.edu/abstractform by Saturday, July 15.

Due to construction in Parking Area F Lot 1, the road behind Parker Hall will have constricted access from Wednesday, July 12, to Friday, July 14. Crews will be digging up pavement. Traffic cones will be set up to direct drivers. Please slow down and proceed with caution. For more information, please contact parking operations at 341-4303.

Due to Project Lead The Way training on campus, the Area L parking lots near Emerson Hall are filling up. The training began July 10 and will conclude Friday, July 21. During this time, permit L holders may park in metered lots L-6 and L-14 at no additional charge.

Missouri S&T’s parking operations is going paperless. Please renew your parking permit at http://parking.mst.edu by Saturday, July 15. Follow these three steps to renew:

1. Beneath the Parking Lot Operations header, click on “Getting a Parking Permit.”
2. Under “Employees,” select “Renew Your Employee Permit.”
3. Complete the form and click “Submit Renewal.”

The parking lot operations staff will review your request and mail your new permit to your campus mailing address by Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Heavy traffic is expected next week while summer campers are arriving and departing from the Havener Center. To lessen traffic congestion, University Police will close Miner Circle 3-4 p.m. each day from Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 14. During this time, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Miner Circle from Highway 63. Vehicles exiting campus on Miner Circle at 3-4 p.m. will be directed to go north only (right turns only). University Police officers also will assist with monitoring traffic in the mornings next week, around 8:30 a.m. when campers arrive.

With the new fiscal year that began on July 1, several organizational transitions are underway as part of Missouri S&T’s budget plan. These changes include a change in direct reports to the chancellor and a reduction in the number of direct reports to the provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.
