Flags to fly at half-staff until Oct. 31
By order of U.S. President Donald Trump, all flags at state and government offices will be flown at half-staff, effective immediately, until sunset Wednesday, Oct. 31, to honor the victims of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, shooting on Oct. 27.

Celebrate library’s 50 years tomorrow
Celebrate 50 years of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library at a golden anniversary party noon-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. Dr. Chris Maples, interim chancellor, will kick off the event outside the library with remarks, followed by a tie-dye station hosted by student radio station KMNR.

Diwali celebration to feature fireworks, parking lot to temporarily close
The India Association at Missouri S&T will host the 2018 Diwali Festival of Lights event Sunday, Oct. 28. The celebration will begin with a cultural show featuring dance and musical performances by S&T students at 4 p.m. in Leach Theatre. Following the performances, a fireworks display and Indian dinner will take place at the Havener Center at 6:15 p.m. To allow for the fireworks, parking lot M-36, located near McNutt Hall, will be closed Sunday, Oct. 28.

The College of Engineering and Computing invites all CEC faculty and staff to its college-wide meeting 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. The Testing Center is seeking volunteers to help proctor exams 8 a.m.-noon or noon-6 p.m. in the Testing Center during S&T’s final exams week, Monday Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14. Volunteers will check student IDs or driver licenses, occasionally and quietly walk through the testing room and enforce the center’s policies.
