Staff Council awards three scholarships
The Staff Council Advocacy Committee recently announced the winners of its spring 2022 staff scholarship. Each recipient was awarded $250 toward a course to be taken at a University of Missouri System institution.

Faculty, staff and student employees are encouraged to attend a webinar provided by the University of Missouri System to learn more about the vaccine mandate and the process to request exemptions. To attend, please register via Percipio. The webinars will be held at the following times:

• 12:30-1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, online
• 1:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, online.
COVID-19 international travel guidelines updated recently
U.S. travel guidelines recently changed for international travelers. Effective Monday, Dec. 6, all air passengers, regardless of vaccination status, must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before travel to the United States. Either NAAT/PCR or Antigen testing will be allowed.

Dr. Colin Potts, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, has appointed search committees for S&T’s academic dean positions. Each committee consists of 10 members, including faculty, staff, student and alumni representation. The searches will occur simultaneously, with the goal of having the three deans on board prior to the start of the fall 2022 semester.

S&T IT staff is currently transitioning the email domain for Google Groups from mst.edu to grp.umsystem.edu. You should begin using groupname-grp@grp.umsystem.edu to send email to any Google group. If you have a rule set up in Outlook to deliver incoming group messages to a specific folder, you should replace the groupname-grp@mst.edu address with groupname-grp@grp.umsystem.edu to continue having those messages delivered to the correct folder.

Read More »Update on federal vaccine mandate for employees
The University of Missouri System has developed a human resources policy to comply with the federal COVID-19 vaccination mandate (Executive Order 14042). The policy, HR-703, is posted on the UM System website. The policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees at S&T, including graduate research assistants (GRAs), graduate teaching assistants (GTAs) and student employees, whether they work in person or remotely. This policy does not apply to volunteers or S&T students who are not university employees.

Missouri S&T will host a walk-in Pfizer vaccine clinic 2-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. Individuals may get their first or second dose or a booster shot. Individuals seeking the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may get it at clinics in the local area, including on a walk-in basis 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Phelps-Maries County Health Department, located at 200 N. Main Street in Rolla.
