Members of Makerspace competed in the Gambler 24 Hours of Le Mini’s, the world’s first 24-hour, off-road race for Gambler mini-bikes in Jacksonville, Florida. The S&T team placed sixth out of 40 teams.

Dr. Alanna Krolikowski, assistant professor of political science, was quoted in Nature on international efforts to govern missions to the moon after presenting on the topic at the Royal Society in London and the University of Oxford.

A proceeding from the AISTech – Iron and Steel Technology Conference has been selected to receive the 2023 Jerry Silver Award. The paper, titled “Effect of Mold Powder Residue on Thin-Cast Slab Scale Structure Evolution During Reheating and Descaling,” is coauthored by Dr. Ronald O’Malley, the Iverson Chair Professor of materials science and engineering and director of the Kent D. Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center, and Dr. Simon Lekakh, professor emeritus of materials science and engineering.
