Missouri S&T supporters recently doubled the impact of their donations thanks to a matching challenge for gifts of $1,000 or more issued by the Kummer Institute Foundation. The Kummer Day Giving Challenge began Oct. 9, the anniversary of the $300 million gift the university received from Fred and June Kummer in 2020, and closed Wednesday, Oct. 25.

A total of 58 current and former faculty of Missouri S&T are among the top researchers in their field as measured by their career research records, and 72 current or former Missouri S&T researchers were among the best in their fields in 2022, according to a recent analysis of standardized citation indicators of the Elsevier Data Repository published by Stanford University.

Dr. Mark Towler, the Linda and Bipin Doshi Professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, has licensed a granted patent to Desicorp, a company based in Louisville, Kentucky. Using Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funds, Towler invented and developed a powdered substance that can be applied to halt bleed-out, or hemostasis, in patients.
