EMSE Ph.D. student selected for best paper

Hadi Fahrangi, Ph.D. student in systems engineering, has been selected for the IISE ISERC Best Paper-Operations Research Track — at an upcoming annual meeting. Fahrangi’s paper is titled “A Separation Method for the Multi-objective Set Covering Problem” and is advised by Dr. Dincer Konur, assistant professor of engineering management and systems engineering.

Hor among highest-cited researchers in 2015

Dr. Yew San Hor, assistant professor of physics, has been named a 2015 Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher. Thomson Reuters analyzed citation data over an 11-year period using Web of Science and InCites to identify highly cited researchers. This is the second year in a row that Hor has received this honor. Hor is also listed in Thomson Reuters’ list of the 2015 World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.

Henslee publishes articles about drinking during St. Pat’s

Dr. Amber Henslee, assistant professor of psychological science, has published two journal articles about her research into drinking during St. Pat’s. According to Henslee’s research into college student health-related behaviors, there isn’t as much drinking as people think. Her articles appear in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs and Addictive Behaviors.
