Winners of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library’s annual Spring Art Show reception were honored at a ceremony April 10 in the library. The exhibit feature 42 pieces of original work by students. Roesch, Compton shine as renaissance students

Daniel Roesch, a senior ceramics engineering major with minors in chemistry and studio art, has earned Missouri S&T’s 2018 Renaissance Student Award. The Renaissance Student Award committee also commended Nathan Compton, a senior in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics, who was a finalist for the award.

Coffey presents on veterans program at national conference

Garrett Coffey, student support specialist in S&T’s Student Veterans Resource Center, delivered a presentation at the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) 2018 National Symposium in San Diego, California, in March. He will also deliver a presentation at the 16th annual Conference of Systems Engineering Research (CSER) in Charlottesville, VA, May 8-9. The conference proceedings and paper will be published by Springer.

Admissions service award goes to O’Connell

Rachel O’Connell received the Molly Arnold Service Award for her contributions to the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC). She is an assistant director of student support services and Illinois regional recruiter for S&T’s admissions department.

Neckermann selected for Leadership Missouri

Adrienne Neckermann, senior program coordinator for graduate studies, is participating in Leadership Missouri, a leadership program sponsored by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Neckermann started the program in April.

Schonberg named Fulbright distinguished chair in Australia

Dr. William Schonberg, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been named a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Advanced Science and Technology. His appointment begins in January 2019 at the Defence Science and Technology Group, a government agency in Melbourne, Australia.

Libre receives President’s Award for Innovative Teaching

University of Missouri System President Mun Choi presented Dr. Nicolas Libre with the President’s Award for Innovative Teaching at a faculty meeting March 22. Libre is an assistant teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, and the first recipient of 10 awards that the president will give in 2018.
