Student selected for veterans leadership conference

Jesse Hassinger, a senior in mechanical engineering, was one of 100 individuals selected nationwide to attend the Student Veterans of America’s 2018 Leadership Conference Sept. 20-23 in Washington, D.C., with all expenses paid. Hassinger is vice president of the S&T Student Veterans Association.
During the program, students connected with and were guided by veteran-mentors with years of experience, and they listened to guest speakers who are national leaders in higher education, veterans organizations, government and business. Participants learned how to more effectively lead their student veteran organizations, collaborate with university leaders and faculty, and effectively engage their communities.
