Three S&T teams head to EQ competition

Three teams of Missouri S&T students will pitch their ideas in a “shark tank” style competition at the University of Missouri System’s Entrepreneur Quest (EQ) program. The teams will compete against each other, and the top three finalists from the other UM System campuses during the EQ final rounds that will take place in conjunction with the system’s Entrepreneurial Educator Summit on Friday, April 5, in Columbia.

Cadets complete ‘death march’ marathon

Fourteen cadets from S&T’s Air Force ROTC program completed one of the toughest marathons in the U.S. The cadets competed in the “heavy duty” division of the Bataan Death March Marathon on March 17 at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. In this division, runners are required to wear a 35-pound pack.

Ph.D. candidate advances to regional competition

Missouri S&T’s 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) winner Siddesh Umapathi represented S&T at a regional competition on March 21. Umapathi, a Ph.D. candidate in chemistry, competed at the Regional 3MT competition hosted at the 75th Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Annual Meeting in St. Louis.

Student named ‘rising star’ for advocacy work

Mullin Evans received the “Rising Star” award from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Central Missouri at the organization’s volunteer appreciation dinner on March 22 in Houston, Missouri. Evans is a senior in psychological science at S&T.
