Come out to the Havener field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8-10 to participate in Missouri S&T’s Heroes’ Field event to recognize and honor individuals who have served or are serving our country. Stop by the tent outside the Havener Center, take a flag with a name tag and place it in the field. Dedicate your flag to a veteran or service member in your life. The free event is open to everyone.

Share your cultural experiences and recruit new members for your organization during Missouri S&T’s global showcase from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Havener Center atrium. If you would like an exhibit or to perform, please contact Richie Myers by 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31.

Faculty members can rent regalia for commencement through the S&T Store. Please place your order by Thursday, Dec. 1, at the store, by calling 341-7522, or email. Submit email orders to Linda Watson, retail associate, with the following information: last name, first name, phone number, height in feet and inches, weight in pounds, and school information (name and location). Payment is due at time of pickup. Orders submitted after the Dec. 1 deadline will be subject to a late fee and an expedited shipping fee.

Do you know any first-generation college students at Missouri S&T? Please encourage them to attend the S&T Trailblazers program 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Room 212 McNutt Hall. It is designed to inspire and encourage students as they listen to first-generation faculty, staff and students share their stories, assemble first-gen communities and discover how they can blaze a new trail in college.

An S&T student organization, Humans vs. Zombies, is hosting a game centered around mock-apocalyptic survival. Sessions began Oct. 24 and you may see students participating in these games during the following times:

Counseling, disability support and student wellness will offer a three-session workshop to help students manage their anxiety and perform better academically. Sessions will be held 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Nov. 2, Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Students can reserve their spot and get details by emailing counseling, disability support and student wellness or calling 573-341-4211. Space is limited and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please announce this in your classrooms.
